your mouth in front of others. Teeth are very important part of your body. They
provide a proper shape to your face. They help you in eating and chewing as
well. Being so important, your teeth need best care.
Taking care of oral health not only involves keeping your
teeth healthy but it also involves taking proper care of your gums, tongue and
jaws. There are many problems that may trouble you badly if you do not adopt
good oral hygiene such as plaque, gum disease, oral cancer, tooth decay, etc. If
you don’t want to face any of these oral health problems, you should do the
things given below-
·
Brush your teeth twice a day- The most
important step that you have to take to ensure good oral health is brushing
your teeth twice a day and in a proper way. It is recommended by dentists to brush
your teeth after having meals. You
should brush your teeth after having dinner and before going to bed at night
and then again you have to brush your teeth when you wake up in the morning. It
is better to use fluoride toothpaste to brush your teeth as fluoride reduces
the risk of tooth decay and make your tooth enamel harder. If you have
sensitive gums, you should use toothbrush that has soft bristles.
·
Do flossing everyday- Proper flossing
helps to remove food particles and plaque that settles in between your teeth
where even your toothbrush cannot reach. Plaque formation on teeth leads to gum
disease and tooth decay. That is why flossing on regular basis is recommended
by dentists. You can use about 18 inches of nylon floss for flossing your teeth
properly. You have to hold the floss tightly with your finger and thumb and
then gently curve it in between every tooth. Use it in up and down motion
within your teeth. You should use clean section of floss on every tooth. After
flossing, you can rinse your mouth to clean it properly.
